Annual Holiday Dinner Party!
We are planning an incredible evening. Great food, networking, a local author with a very fun book, and even a holiday grab bag!! Don't miss this evening.
Let's review the details:
December 21, 2009 at 6:00 PM. We will be gathering at the Inn at Millrace Pond, in Hope, New Jersey. If you were with us last year at the Inn, then you remember the increible food. This year will be just as great.
Local Author, Amy Ferris, will join us to share stories from her book:
Marrying George Clooney: Confessions from a Midlife Crisis
Amy Ferris is an author, screenwriter and editor. She is on the Advisory Board of The Women's Media Center (founded by Jane Fonda, Gloria Steinem, and Robin Morgan), she serves on the Executive Board of Directors at Peters Valley Art, Education, and Crafts Center, and is a member of New York Women in Film and Television (NYWIFT). She primarily writes about all things women. She lives in Northeast Pennsylvania with her husband.
While wide awake in the middle of the night (welcome to menopause!), Amy Ferris began chronicling every one of her funny, sad, hysterical, down and dirty, and raw to the bones stories. Along with fantasizing about marrying George Clooney, Ferris is faced with a plethora of other insomnia-induced thoughts and activities. From googling old boyfriends to researching obscure and fatal diseases on the web; from scouting five-star spa destinations to having angry, bitter, e-mail exchanges with her brother. She worries endlessly about her husband, relies heavily on Ambien, and tries to arrange care via the Internet for her mother (who has both severe dementia and a massive love-bubble crush on Jesus Christ)—all while refraining from lighting up just one more cigarette. Marrying George Clooney explores a range of emotions experienced through this life-altering period. In this candid look at "the change," Ferris offers a humorous spin on a not-so-funny topic.
Now I don't know about you, but this is sounding fun!!
We will have some copies of Amy's book on hand for you if you decide you want a signed copy.
It's holiday time, so we want to have lots of fun! We will be once again, donating to NORWESCAP's Women's Transition Center and DASI (Domestic Abuse and Sexual Assualt Intervention Service) If you are interested in donating please bring gift cards to local stores, that can be used for holiday shopping.
You are also invited to bring a "white elephant" gift. We will have fun, with a fun filled gift exchange. Value to be about $10.
Plan to join us. Make your reservation today!
Here's a quick Checklist:
- Bring gift cards to donate to NORWESCAP & DASI
